Study on overcharge and overdischarge of Li-ion power battery at different ambient temperatures

The overcharge and overdischarge tests of lithium ion power batteries at different ambient temperatures (-30, 20 and 40℃) are studied. The results show that overcharge causes the battery case to expand and the case to bulge at both 20 and 40℃. The higher the ambient temperature, the more dangerous the overcharge test is, i.e. the higher the highest temperature reached by the battery, the shorter the time required to reach the highest temperature. Compared with overcharge of the battery, the highest temperature reached by the lithium ion battery discharge is relatively lower at-30, 20 and 40℃, and the battery case is basically not deformed.
